Who's been sleeping in my bed?

Well Cupidon has, and here is the evidence - look at the size of the creature. His kitten days are well and truly over.

Thus far he has been unable to crack the mosquito net, but today he suceeded. Oh joy, oh rapture. It lends a certain currency to "Sleep tight, hope the fleas don't bite in the night."

I feel I should apologise for the sordid state of the unmade bed, but that would just draw your attention to it, so I won't (don't click for a larger view!!).

Haha . . just came from English Mum who has a similar situation . . large greyhound with a shoe fetish sleeping on her unmade bed! Apologies all round this morning for poor housekeeping. You need mosquito nets in France? I learn something every day!

Well I did click for a larger view:-)
Princess Puss looks in her rightful place.

(Beautifully lit shot btw)

and i'm assuming it was she who rumpled the bed.

The image of contentment! Makes me want to go back to bed....

Maybe she'll justify her position in keeping the mice at bay?

As a child I had a cat shaped hole in my mosquito net so that the cat could come and go as he pleased. Kindof defeated the object, I fear?

baino - I do draw the line at dogs in or on beds. Our neighbours, when we were in Cambridge, had a large English Sheepdog who used to sleep in the bed between them. Pretty good contraceptive I would think. Our two German Shepherds live outside, know no different, and don't feel deprived (or so I tell them). And mozzies, yes, you bet.

Thanks Lane, it was partly the light that led me to take the pic. Hand held at 1/4 sec, but braced against the cupboard.

Laurie - thanks too, you are absolutely right!

mud - dead wrong I fear, Cupie brings the effing mice *in*, then lets them go.

miranda - absolutely, and having made their way in (cats and mozzies) they seem not to know the way out.

Errr I ignored your instructions and clicked for a larger view! That bed looks really comfy, no wonder cat wanted to get on it.

Thanks for the comment you left on Sophie's birthday memory. I just got back off holiday so have only just read it. x

That beast is showing the makings of a lion! Any bigger and you'll be sleeping in the cat basket, Ernest! ;-)

Lovely shot!

Hi Ernest. I love your post about clever people ... just the kind of boiled down synopsis I need. And as for that cat ... well she looks like she's made it home.

Akelamalu - hi, hope things are ok with you. Comfy? Yup, spend too long there as it is.

av - you had me laughing there. It would surprise me not at all to wake up in the cat basket.

thanks gbs, I think I may have to do another to address the gender issue which is perplexing me somewhat. But better not get started here!

Too late, I clicked. I think I see something too. hmm..

Hey, that mosquito netting is very romantic. Well, you know till ya see the cat.

:)

drowsey - it is quite romantic actually; a bit like being in a tent, but a lot more comfortable.

Cupie is cute and so has the right idea. I could do with a net like that; the bitey things in Lancashire are very 'bitey' this year.

Hope your septic tank got finished. All we ever found in ours was a couple of huge frogs - still alive. Actually they were toads but some folk might have read that words as something else related to septic tanks.

John said...

janelle - so you did find the dustbin then? (Thinks, but what was in it?)

pat - welcome. Love toads, whatever they sound like).

moi? MOI? dustbin? what dustbin?
hah. x

what a lovely photo...so atmospheric... if the bed was made it wouldn't be nearly as attractive of a photograph.

I sleep much better when a cat, or two or three is sharing the bed!

The first thing I did was click for a larger view! It's not THAT bad.

Enormous cat - I'm a bit scared of them actually. She's as big as our dog!

mouse - it was the light and the atmos that had me looking for the camera. I have plenty of Cupi already. But it was funny to see him there, for the first time in a long time, because he just couldn't figure out the netting.

karen - the bed, hmmm. If I was Tracy Emmen (or whatever her name is) I reckon we're looking at about 40 grand.
